The focus of the study is on selected issues related to educational activity of the employed population, as well as potential link between non\-formal education and the main labour market indicators. The paper is based on the comparative analysis of available statistical data for Poland and the United Kingdom. Quantitative descriptive analysis was used to describe and compare the scale and nature of non\-formal training which is an important element of the current focus of lifelong learning policies in both countries.
