 abstract={Effective structural policy requires the use of methods allowing identification of existing disproportions in development of regions, and appropriate methods of monitoring the effects of reinforcing development policies. The research presented here confirmed usefulness of taxonomic methods in this context.. In this paper the level of development of all districts in Poland is studied, with special attention put to it’s diversification within regions. According to EU standards Poland was divided into six major statistical units. The paper studies internal regional diversification of districts’ development according to statistical as well as administrative divisions. The results confirms fears of large internal diversification, point out raising asymmetry of taxonomic measure distribution and general growth in level of development.},
