 abstract={The paper presents the existing concepts in the literature concerning the motives and forms of foreign direct investment in a synthetic way. The theoretical discussion is exemplified with the results of empirical research conducted in 2004 among 77 Polish companies. The authors discuss the way Polish-local companies perceive the motives and forms of expansion of foreign firms entering into the Polish market. (original abstract)},
