Abstrakt:

Globalisation which is defined as a process of joining the economies of different countries at different aspects is also present on the insurance and reinsurance markets. Due to globalisation the problem of lacking capacity in an insurance company or lacking reinsurance coverage disappears and the access to capitals and know-how increases. In the last decade there have been many mergers and acquisitions. It has been caused by changes on regional reinsurance markets. Nevertheless, the centres of the worldwide reinsurance are still at its traditional locations (Germany, France, Switzerland and the USA).
